Insect Food is a
sprayable powder containing proven food supplements to attract and increase the
number of predatory insects that occur naturally in our growing plants.
Since many of the beneficial species
feed as adults on plant pollens and sugars, their numbers may dwindle when
these natural foods are lacking. Insect Food supplies a complete diet that is
more nutritionally effective and available at your command.
Predators such as the green lacewing
(Chrysopa spp.), ladybird beetles (Hippodamia spp.) and Syrphid flies are
attracted to Insect Food. They prefer to remain in crops where this product is
used and reproduce as much as ten-fold with a single application. The net
result from this attraction and increased reproduction can cause significant
reduction of such pests as aphids, bollworms, mites and others.
CONDITIONS OF SALE
Follow directions carefully. Timing and
method of application, weather and crop conditions, mixture with other
chemicals not specifically recommended and other influencing factors in the use
of this product are beyond the control of the seller. Buyer assumes all risks
of use, storage, or handling of this material not in strict accordance with
directions given herewith.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Agricultural Crops: Insect Food should
be used at the rate of 4 lbs. to 10 lbs. in 5 to 10 gallons of water per
sprayed acre in clean conventional air or ground spray equipment. The width of
swath should be 40-50 feet and only one half of the gross acreage should be
treated by skipping every other swath width.
Gardens: For smaller volumes use ½ to 1
lb to a gallon of water, or one ounce by weight (3.5 Tablespoons) per cup of
water. Spray using a course spray with scattered droplets on the leaves of
the plants you want to protect.
Generally, higher rates of Insect Food
are used to support larger numbers of predators. One to three applications may
be necessary prior to the influx of pests. Insect Food is designed for use with
Integrated Pest Management systems. In a situation where pesticide use is needed
or desired, consult with entomologists or other qualified personnel for best
results.
